Dogs are the epitome of unconditional love. Dogs love you no matter what. They don’t care if you don’t have any money, or you had a bad day at the office. Their feelings never waver, which is more than you can say for some humans. Dogs make good pets and great companions, and sometimes, they may even get along with your cat. Although most people either prefer owning a dog or a cat, some owners have both types of animals, and if they grow up together, they can often get along well. If you decide to adopt a dog, you’ll need some supplies. Your dog may like sleeping in a comfortable, cozy dog bed, and you’ll need a dog collar and a leash to take him on long walks. This is good exercise for both of you, which is another reason why dogs make great pets. You don’t see people taking a cat for a walk, unless they are very brave. Kids love dogs, and having dogs is a good way to teach kids about the rigors of responsibility, when it comes to feeding a dog, taking it out for a bathroom break, and making sure it gets enough exercise. Did you know that the dog was the first animal to be domesticated? Dogs actually evolved from wolves, but the dog as you know it is a lot nicer, less frightening, and less carnivorous. Dogs have held many jobs over the years, from hunters, to pack members, to guard dogs. However, most recently, dogs are pets, and there are millions of dogs in shelters now that need homes. Therefore, if you are looking for a great companion, consider adopting a dog to bring into your home. He will always love you, even if you are having a bad hair day.
