Duvet

Duvet is a kind of bedding made of soft flat bag filled with the down of the eider or eider feathers and is used as a blanket. It is popularly used in Europe, especially in northern Europe, and Scandinavia as a form of bed covering. It serves as a good blanket material that eliminates the use of double sheets covers. It reduces the complexity of making a bed, and functions as a blanket or quilts. The duvet is generally layered on a flat or fitted bed sheet and then covered with a duvet, which is also called as 'duvet cover' or 'quilt cover'. The duvet is known as 'Doona' in Australia, which is derived from a trademarked brand name from the Old Norse 'dunn' meaning 'down feathers'. The name has now become synonymous with duvet or down quilt. The duvet cover can be used to give new life to old comforter. Although it is synonymous with comforter, it is primarily used in cold countries for its warmth. They are usually open on one end and may have a button closure. Duvet is also filled with wool or artificial fibers or other similar fabrics. Duvets are generally smaller in size then comforters. Duvet comes in a variety of colors, patterns, and designs, and is made of different fabrics.
