About Graffiti Canvas

The word 'Graffiti' is said to be the plural form of the Italian word 'Graficar', which signifies messages, scribbles, drawings, and markings. Graffiti art began around the late 1960's and has been getting developed ever since. It has been found on uncovered ancient and Egyptian monuments. This art has been contentious due to its bold and unconventional presentations; however it is not denied its status of authentic art. There are many forms of Graffiti. The simplest forms are the slogans or slurs and 'the tag', which is fancy and scribble-like writing. Graffiti means 'to scratch' or unsolicited markings on public or private property, which is basically sabotage. This art has the power to communicate strong messages, and also beautify places such as old buildings, cars, unoccupied areas or walls, and surfaces. Modern Graffiti art was created in New York City and called 'New York Style' graffiti. It can be seen at subways, parking lots, on taxis, and street walls generally done with spray paints. Even on a canvas it may signify rebelliousness, anger or some social message to the public or a particular community. Conventionally, graffiti artists may have practiced on illegal walls, and surfaces hoping not to be caught, and have now advanced on to a canvas/image. First the artist makes a sketch and then plans the characters and colors. Commonly, na'¯ve and crude images are presented by graffiti artists on images that speak about 'black history', science, science fiction, spiritual apprehension, mental images, and so forth. There have been various exhibitions on Graffiti art in countries such as Germany, Italy, and Holland.
