Hallmark Cards Inc is a company located in Kansas City, in Missouri, that started with the production of greeting cards. It was founded by Joyce Clyde Hall, in January 1910. He started with printing of invoices and selling hundreds of postcards to dealer through Midwest. Later on Rollie Hall, brother of Joyce Hall joined the company and the company was named as Hall Brothers, in 1915. Looking at the success of the business they decided to start printing cards for other festive occasions such as Valentine's Day cards, and Christmas cards. In 1917, they invented the modern wrapping paper that replaced the traditional brown paper and colored tissue paper used for gift dressing.

In the year 1928, the company adopted the name 'Hallmark' and started promoting itself by printing it on the back of each of their printed cards. Later on after three years the company entered into a business venture with one of the very well-known card making company known as William E. Coutts Company Ltd. The company finally changed its name from Hall brothers to Hallmark, in 1954.

In 1973, Hallmark introduced their first collection of Keepsake ornaments and gave birth to the new tradition of decorating Christmas. There are more than 3000 keepsake ornaments and more than 100 ornament series sharing the same themes made by Hallmark. These ornaments evoke emotions and feelings. Today, Hallmark Inc offers many products and services such as Free Barbie E-cards, greeting cards, Flowers and gifts, and Stuffed toys.
