About Herman Miller Aeron Chair

American manufacturer of office furniture and equipment, Herman Miller, is noted for its formidable series of office equipment specifically designed for extreme ergonomics and ecologically healthy. The headquarters of Herman Miller Inc. is based in Zeeland, Michigan. Its products are specially crafted and manufactured out of ecologically sound materials that are sustainable in daily usage. The fabrication of products is achieved by saving materials, energy efficient manufacturing, recycled content, and recyclable content, including design for disassembly. The products are also tested for individual maximum life cycles for increased longevity. The most widely known product developed and manufactured by the company, is the Aeron Chair. The Aeron Chair was invented and developed in the year 1994 by Don Chadwick and Bill Stumpf. It is considered to be one of the most comfortable chairs for any given type of user. This ultra-comfortable and ergonomic chair is a permanent seat-holder in the New York Museum of Modern Art collection. The chair is designed without any upholstery material covering any of the chair's areas. The seat and the back-rest are fabricated out of a very flexible, semi-transparent material known as pellicle. The chair eliminates all types of slouching and other similar seating postures that are the root causes of major backaches, headaches, fatigue, and poor concentration. The chair is a product of the research undertaken to prove the theory of unhealthy postures of sitting as well as walking. The technology, invented and patented by Herman Miller, is called as PostureFit. It is specially designed to provide support to the lower back for creating a healthier posture and improved comfort. The Kinemat tilt mechanism allows the body to pivot naturally and simultaneously at the ankles, knees, and hips providing a smooth ride and proper support from forward-leaning to reclining postures. The chair is portrayed as God's favorite in the Simpsons episode titled, 'Thank God It's Doomsday', where God is at his desk seated in an Aeron chair.
