Hunting
Hunting is one of the oldest practices carried out by men to capture or kill animals for food, recreation, or for trade purposes. Although, hunting for food is less rampant, it is popularly practiced for recreation and sports, and for trading in animal products. The skin and body parts of wild animals fetch a huge amount of price in the international market. The skins of some wild animals are used in clothing, and their parts are used as essential contents in the making of some medicines.
Hunting is highly regulated in countries around the world because of the dangers of extinction of some rare species of animals, which may cause imbalance in the natural ecosystem. Despite the ban on hunting, there are several industries that are thriving on hunting, who support hunting on the economic grounds against the ecological arguments of marginal habitats.
The parts of animals such as the skin, skull, and other parts are also a collector's item. With the scarce availability of animal parts, the European mounts are popularly becoming a lucrative and cost effective alternative to traditional taxidermy, which were largely used by museums, institutes, and private collectors.
There are various hunting based products that are available such as the western mule deer antlers, Maxam stainless hunting knife, Baboon skull taxidermy, and Ruby lens compact binoculars. The deer European mount projecting wall display panel is one such product that can be mounted on walls. It is constructed of Douglas Fir with walnut stain and two coats of urethane. These mounts can also be used to display a traditional antler skull cap.
