A leaf blower is a garden tool used to remove yard or garden debris such as leaves. It was originally invented in the early 1970s by Japanese engineers, and launched in the United States for agricultural purposes such as spraying pesticides. Soon, the leaf blower was adapted as a maintenance tool for use in lawns and gardens. The leaf blower usually utilizes a two-stroke engine or an electric motor that pumps air out of a nozzle to move debris. Typical leaf blowers are small handheld units or backpack mounted units with extendable handheld wands. The backpack mounted leaf blowers are more durable and can suck in leaves as well as shred them into the waste bag. Leaf blowers are available in two types: electric leaf blowers, and gas leaf blowers. The use of gas leaf blowers has been restricted in certain states owing to the high level of noise pollution that they emit. Many states also have special laws governing or prohibiting their usage. Leaf blowers have, today, evolved to become ubiquitous gardening tools. Several kinds of leaf blowers are available that can also be ordered online. Some of the popular leaf blowers are manufactured by the well-known brand Poulan, which also makes chainsaws and lawn mowers. One of the popular gas leaf blowers provided by Poulan is the 2-in-1 vacuum blower that is powered by a 200 mph blowing power. This high-performance blower has variable speed throttles with 16:1 debris reduction, allowing for faster cleaning of the yard. It is also equipped with vacuum suction, and features a 24 cc gas powered engine. The blower has an ergonomic design which is easy to maneuver and reduces fatigue for the user. It is available with additional attachments for the blower as well as bag attachments for vacuum suction. |
