About Starbucks Coffee

The first Starbucks coffee shop was opened in 1971 in Seattle, Washington. In 1984, it expanded outside Seattle to Vancouver, British Columbia and Chicago, Illinois. By 1996, Starbucks opened in Tokyo, and now has outlets in 30 more countries. Through the acquisition of other coffee franchises, Starbucks coffee shops are now open in over 10,000 locations worldwide. The logo for Starbucks coffee is easily recognized around the world. The siren (from Greek mythology) resembles that of a mermaid. The founder of Starbucks came up with the name based on a character from Moby Dick, Pequod's first mate. The name is associated with a special blend of coffee and other products such as tea and spices. Inside every Starbucks store is a wide selection of freshly brewed coffees. These coffees are often blended with other products such as granulated ice, milk of all kinds, including no-fat, low-fat, and soy, flavored syrups, and/or sugar to create cappuccinos, lattes, and other specialty combinations. Those who frequent Starbucks coffee shops often develop a preference and order the same thing every time. For those who like to try new tastes, there are new coffee flavors introduced on a regular basis. Starbucks has recently expanded into other markets, and now offers gifts such as CDs and cookbooks at all their retail locations. Many Starbucks coffee shops are designed to appeal to the lifestyle of workers on the go by providing wireless access to the Internet. Plenty of electrical outlets and comfortable chairs provide the environment for spending long hours at the coffee shop. In addition, Starbucks is a non-smoking company to ensure that the coffee aroma is not adversely affected.
