Rey Mysterio is a popular professional wrestler of Mexican-American descent. His real name is Oscar Gutierrez Rubio and he was born in San Diego on 11th December, 1974. Rey was only 14 years old when he became a wrestler in Tijuana, Mexico. At 18, he started using the ring name Rey Mysterio, Jr. but gradually dropped the Jr. from the name.
