Victory Motorcycle has only been in business since 1997. However, its parent company, Polaris Industries, has been selling snowmobiles to the public since 1955. The company decided to start making ATVs in the 1980s and motorcycles a decade later. The first motorcycle introduced by the company was the Victory V92C. It was a hit with the public and was even named 'Best Cruiser of 1998,' by Cycle World Magazine. Other award-winning motorcycle models include the Victory Vegas and the Victory King Pin. Victory's first custom cruiser was the Vegas, which was first introduced in 2003. The bike was named 'Best Cruiser' by the 2003 editions of Cycle World and Motorcyclist magazines and instantly became the company's biggest seller. The Vegas is equipped with a V-Twin, four-stroke, 1500 cc engine and is reasonably priced with an MSRP starting around $15,000. The following year Victory introduced the King Pin, which was slated to serve as the company's classic cruiser. Renowned chopper designers Arlene and Cory Ness were commissioned to customize the bike. The pair gave it a distinctive flair that included fat fenders and a split-tail gas tank. Increased comfort was also a primary objective for King Pin designers. Thus, they not only improved the design of the bike's seat, they added floorboards as well. The original King Pin was also equipped with a 1500 cc V-Twin engine and was even recognized as the V-Twin Bike of the Year by the 2004 edition of V-Twin Magazine. |
