Virago 1100

Yamaha, a Japanese manufacturer, introduced the Yamaha Virgo, a V-twin-powered cruiser-style motorcycle, in 1981. The cruiser was unique for its time as it had single shock rear suspension and was originally sold with a 750cc engine. Later, it was sold in the 500cc and 920cc versions. The motorcycle went through changes in 1984; the single-shock rear suspension was now changed to dual-shock rear suspension. In 1986, the Virago series was extended with the introduction of the Virago XV1100. However, production of the Virago XV1100 was discontinued in 1999, as the 'Star' range of motorcycles was introduced by Yamaha in 2000. The engine of the Virago 1100 is 1063cc air-cooled with two valves and a single overhead camshaft that generates 61.7 Horsepower at 6000 RPM. The bore x stroke ratio of the cruiser bike is 95mm x 75mm, whereas the compression ratio is 8.3:1. The digital TCI ignition makes the bike more powerful and sturdy at the same time. The 5-speed manual transmission gives smooth and hassle-free rides. The cruiser bike is installed with 2x Mikuni BST40 carburetor. The fuel capacity of the XV1100 Virago is 16.8 liters. The dry weight of the Yamaha bike is 221 kgs with dimensions measuring 2285 mm in length, 840mm in width, and 1190 mm in height. The 60-inch wheelbase of the bike makes it more maneuverable with easier handling. The Virago 1100 has a 12v 20Ah battery with main fuse of 30A. The cruiser is enhanced with a 282 mm front dual disc brake and rear drum brake. The Swingarm rear suspension and Telescopic fork front suspension are also installed in the bike.
