About Myleene Klass

Myleene Angela Klass is a classically trained pianist born on April 6, 1978 in Norfolk. Her father is of an Austrian/English origin and her mother is a Filipino/Chinese. She is a former member of the British pop group Hear'Say. She released two albums 'Popstars' and 'Everybody' along with the group. She separated from the group on 13 May, 2003. Nearly a year after Hear'Say disbanded Myleene signed a 5 album contract with Universal Classics and Jazz. The promotions of her album began with the release of her first promotional single Toccata and Fugue. It was the first ever classical piece to appear on the music channel 'The Box'. The launch of her debut solo album titled 'Moving on' was held at Harrods, London. The album contained interpretations of famous classical numbers such as [Faure]'s 'Pavane', 'Now We Are Free' (from Gladiator), the theme from 'The Piano' by Michael Nyman, Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata' and Satie's 'Gymnopedie No.2'. The album peakes at #2 on the Classical charts after just a week of release; and has gone double platinum. 'Moving On' was nominated as the 'Peoples Album of the year' at the Classical Brit Awards. In August 2005, Myleene signed a contract to host for the ITV1 music show CD:UK. She made her first appearance on 17 September, 2005, alongside Lauren Laverne and Johny P. In February 2006, she took over from Aled Jones as the radio broadcaster on the 'Sunday Breakfast' programme on Classic FM.
