About Sell Used Cds

Because the life of a properly handled CD is estimated at about 125 years, it makes sense that a CD will likely outlast its owner's enthusiasm for the music it contains. However, rather than throwing them away, many people sell used CDs to clear out their collections, buy new music, and make a little extra cash. There are a few tricks to learn before attempting to sell used CDs, however. The condition of the CD is of paramount importance. Carefully inspect each CD for scratches or cracks. To be considered 'Like New,' the jewel case and CD should not be damaged in any way. The liner notes should also be complete and in good condition.Simply washing CDs can often improve their appearance and performance, allowing to give a better rating to the CDs you are selling and get more money for them. If there are small scratches, a gentle scrubbing can often remove them completely. CD manufacturers recommend using a soft cotton cloth and mild dish detergent. The CD should then be rinsed under running water and gently patted dry.If, after washing, the CD still has superficial scratches on its underside, there's still a chance they can be repaired. Some recommend polishing scratched CDs with a T-shirt and toothpaste, while others say a thin coat of floor wax will fill in the cracks and improve the CD's playability. This coating will also disguise any scratches--a big plus if you plan to sell used CDs that have a little wear and tear. If the CD has scratches on the top of the CD, however, its days are over--that's where the data is stored.
