The Gibson Paul custom model is a solid-body electric guitar developed way back in the 1950s. The Les Paul series is one of the oldest electric guitars in the world that has not changed much over the years. The Gibson Les Paul series is the cumulative work of Gibson Guitar, under its president Ted McCarty, and the famous pop star and jazz guitarist Les Paul. The Les Paul guitar family comprises the Standard, Junior, Classic Custom and Deluxe versions, each with different finishes, features and trim levels. The Gibson Les Paul Customs usually use expensive and high-quality ebony fretboards which have inlays. They are very heavy guitars, thus, emphasizing the high-quality make. The electric guitar has a pretty unique arch-top and a mahogany neck. It is a six-string guitar with 22 frets. The jumbo frets are apt for modern as well as classical tones. The body of the guitar has a Maple top and a Mahogany back. Les Paul's name embellishes the headstock of the guitar. The alnico magnets in the humbuckings pickups can produce a sweet serenade as well as a loud crunch with ease. Different music genres like metal, funk, jazz can be played on this guitar. There is a touch of gold on the pickup covers and tailpiece, besides a two volume, master tone control and a push/pull control. The recommended users for this expensive guitar are advance guitarists. It can be purchased either first hand or second hand. Some renowned guitarists, such as Stone Gossard of the Pearl Jam band and Tony Rombola of the Godsmack band, use this guitar.
