IbanezIbanez guitars have a very loyal following. Today, Ibanez is one of the most popular guitar companies in the world. Endorsed by rock stars and jazz musicians the world over, Ibanez is also well beloved as a manufacturer of affordable learning guitars. If you are looking to purchase your child his or her first guitar, you may want to consider an Ibanez. Ibanez has an interesting pedigree. The brainchild of a Pennsylvania music store owner and a Japanese guitar manufacturer, Ibanez guitars were named so to avoid that bad image that 'made in Japan' had in the United States during the mid to late 1960s. Harry Rosenbloom owned a music store and a handmade guitar company in Pennsylvania. When the war ended, his sales far exceeded his inventory capacity. He bought one small Spanish guitar company, named Ibanez. He then negotiated a separate deal to become the exclusive distributor of a line of Japanese guitars made by Hoshino Gakki Instruments. From 1971 to 1978, Ibanez concentrated on making relatively high-quality copies of more expensive guitars made famous by other manufacturers. Now called 'Lawsuit Guitars' these instruments are considered very rare and very collectible. Since the late 70s, Ibanez has concentrated on their own styles, striving for quality workmanship at an affordable price. |
