Kramer Guitar, located in America, manufactures guitars. The company was established in the late 1970s by Dennis Berardi and his close friend Gary Kramer, who was also an associate of Travis Bean. The first guitar they manufactured was an aluminum neck guitar in June 1976, which became available for sale in November, 1976. The aluminum neck guitars had bolt-ons, which had a different headstock design that was shaped like a tuning fork. They also had wood inserts in the back of the necks. The bodies were made from solid chunks of wood. The necks also had a zero fret made of Ebonol. 350 G&B (G=guitar, B=bass) and the 450 G&B were the first models introduced by Kramer guitar. Many new models were added in 1978. The DMZ series of guitar was an apt change for revolutionizing the music scene. These guitars had high-output, twin Dimarzio humbucking pickups, a pickgaurd and a more offset double cut body. In 1981, the new duke series was introduced. The Duke is a small box of a guitar, with an aluminum, headless neck. In 1982, Kramer offered models such as the Voyager bass, which was star shaped, and the Challenger. Since the sales of aluminum guitars dropped, Kramer withdrew production in 1984, and focused on the wood neck guitar, which was more affordable. This guitar had a thin body and looked like an electric guitar. In 1988, radical changes were seen in these guitars. The 3/4-size, squared-off corner Pacer series was known as the Baretta II. Last model they introduced was the Savant. The Savant had internally loaded metal bars at the bottom of the guitar. The GP guitar, which was introduced then, was a triangular-shaped guitar called the Balalaika (traditional Russian string instrument.) In 2005, Gary Kramer Guitars was re-established by Kramer guitar owner Mr. Gary Kramer. |
