The American Ludwig-Musser Company owned by Conn-Selmer, Inc is not only famous manufacturers of drums but are also working to make drumming an unforgettable experience by hosting many drum shows and conventions. The brothers William F. and Theo Ludwig founded this company in 1910 and named it 'Ludwig & Ludwig'. They launched the bass drum, their first musical instrument and in the 1930s because of the Great Depression merged with C.G. Conn Company. Latter, William opened his own company in 1937 called the 'W.F.L. Drum' Company. The Ludwing Company also own the line called 'Accent' (subsidiary of Selmer) which is imported from China. The portfolio of the Ludwig consists of the Accent CS series drums, Classic Birch Series Drums and the Exotic Snare Drums. The Snare drums are made of aluminum acrolite and are offered in two sizes with Classic/Tube Lugs with Suptra-Phonic snare strainer. The Exotic Snare drums come under different types such as South American Mahogany, Mascassar Ebony, Pearwood, Makore(African Cherry), East Indian Rosewood, Berdeseye Maple, Santos Rosewood, Waterfall Bubinga, Black Walnut and Black Cherry. The Ludwig's Accent series are upgraded and the Accent Custom Outfit was introduced. It consisted of five piece kit, with additional features such as L-arm double tom holder, Bass drum batter head muffler ring, Vibra-Bands on Toms, The Pro LM814FP Foot Pedal and drumsticks. All the items are available in chromed-plated and 700 series double-braced hardware. The company manufactures the Vistalite drum equipments and has its own series of acrylic drums. The famous Vistalite drums were endorsed by the Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham. |
