An Emergency Medical Technician, or EMT, is a healthcare specialist who has knowledge in pre-hospital emergency medicine. An EMT may be military or civilian, and is usually assigned to an ambulance or medical center in order to provide emergency medical services to critically ill and injured individuals. A trained EMT has often undergone curriculum or program education and needs to receive periodic recertification. CPR manikins and EMT bags are among the essential implements for EMT training and performance. CPR manikins are a realistic tool used in the training of CPR skills. EMT bags, on the other hand, are used for carrying and organizing medical supplies. They are commonly offered on the market as EMT trauma, paramedic, and medical bags. In order to prepare themselves for situations in which they will need to save the lives of real human beings, EMTs receive training in basic medical knowledge and skills. Among other things, EMTs learn the basic protocols to evaluate and maintain a patient's breathing and circulation by CPR. Much of this learning and preparation is done with the aid of a CPR manikin. Several manufacturers specialize in the production of CPR manikins for EMT training. Much of the equipment required by an EMT to perform his or her job is carried around in an EMT bag. While an EMT bag should be portable and compact, it should also be large enough to accommodate and organize all necessary contents in a logical way. It is vital that medical supplies contained in an EMT bag be easy to find and to use. Though some of these bags can be expensive, their price varies, and they can also be customized for every type of environment.
