| Sweden-based, Ikea, is a home and office furnishings giant. Created in 1943, by Ingvar Kamprad, the company’s initial product lineup included watches, pens, jewelry, picture frames, nylon stockings, and table runners. In 1947, Ikea began dealing in furniture, with in-house furniture design and manufacturing starting in 1955. A unique facet of Ikea furniture was that the customer could assemble the product, without the product being pre-assembled at the time of purchase. This method was proved to be a cost-saving measure for the company, both in term of packaging and shipping, a benefit which could be passed on to the customer.
Nowadays, when people spend a major portion of their waking hours in the office, the importance of a comfortable office environment cannot be over-emphasized. Ikea offers a wide variety of computer tables and workstations, combining style with efficiency.
