Casio is a world-famous Japanese manufacturer of electronic devices such as watches, cameras, PDAs, musical instruments, calculators, and audio equipment. This company was established in the year 1946. More than a decade later, they released the first fully electronic compact calculator to the world. Casio has earned a huge world-wide reputation for the excellent performance and designs of its calculators, cameras, and keyboard instruments. Although the headquarters of Casio is in Tokyo, this organization has a sizeable presence in several countries all across the globe.
Exilim is a family of thinner and more compact digital cameras introduced by Casio, in 2002. The Casio EX-Z120 belongs to this Exilim Zoom line of digital cameras. The main characteristics of this simple model is that it features a 3X optical zoom, 7.2 megapixel resolution and a two-inch LCD monitor. The whole body is covered in metal, having lighter or darker tones on different portions. The camera has an On/Off switch on the upper right corner that prevents it from being accidentally turned on. There is also an optical viewfinder on the top left corner of the rear, which is also useful for saving power. There are separate red and green LED lights embedded on its right for indicating any problems.
The EX-Z120 has 8.3 MB internal memory, however only JPEG images can be captured at three different levels of compression. The incorporated Anti-shake mode and the High Sensitivity mode increase the sensitivity of the camera. This elegant camera has an accurate self-timer, whereas the Auto-focus it uses is precise and quick. The colors captured by this camera are lifelike, and there are a number of color filters offered by the EX-Z120 that enhance the image quality. This compact digital camera generates excellent images when used in sunlight, although the flash can be effective in darker environments. |
