Samsung has long been an innovator in the manufacture of cell phones. Some of its innovations include the slide-up screen, the "intenna" (internal antenna), and megapixel digital cameras. All of these innovations come together in the Samsung D500. The Samsung D500 phone sports the typical Samsung design with the features that cell phone users have come to expect in today's phones. The front cover of the D500 slides up to reveal the number pad in front and the camera lens in back. This serves the dual purpose of preventing accidental calls, as well as protecting the lens of the camera. The phone features an 80 MB storage capacity, a 1.3 megapixel camera with flash, Bluetooth, email, and more. The 80 MB storage capacity allows for the storage of over 1,000 images, up to 15 to 20 songs, and up to 60 minutes of voice recordings. The Bluetooth connection makes the sharing of data easier than ever before. Bluetooth headsets also make hands-free phone use a convenient reality. The D500's camera takes still photographs as well as video recording. The camera features a 7x digital zoom for pictures, and 4x for video. The Samsung D500 comes preloaded with 64 polyphonic/MP3 ring tones. The phone also has a speakerphone that offers rich vocal clarity. The music player supports both MP3 and AAC digital musical formats. The large 262,144-color display is 176 by 220 pixels. The email client allows for convenient message checking from practically anywhere.
