| The American Eagle Outfitters has been in existence since 1904. However, in 1977, it underwent refurbishment and was reorganized in Pittsburgh’s north suburbs. Since then, it is commonly known as American Eagle or by the abbreviation “AE” rather than its full name.
Referred to as “retro” in the fashion industry, AEs designs are primarily a potpourri of preppy, athletic, and casual apparel. AE offers a full-range collection of apparel that includes basic T-shirts, polo necks, woven fabrics, cargos, corduroys, and denims, such as distressed or hand-finished ones. It also offers trendy and vintage-inspired graphics and logo driven tops. Their collection is also inclusive of accessories, outerwear, and footwear. AE primarily targets those aged between fifteen and twenty five years. Apart from its namesake brand, AE has also launched other brands, such as ‘aerie’ that offers intimate apparel such as bras, panties, and other dorm-wear. Martin + Osa, is AE’s stand-alone lifestyle concept targeting the middle-aged.
AE practices a concept known as “AE All-Access Pass”. Each AE product is assigned certain points. Every time an individual shops at AE, he is assigned as many points as denoted by his purchase. At the end of three months, depending on the total points collected, the individual can avail of discounts at AE. Justin Timberlake, Eric West, Drew Barrymore, Ashton Kutcher, and Eva Longoria are some of the famous celebrities to have endorsed AE. The American Eagle brand is officially denoted by the logo of a landing eagle. |
