Dolce & Gabbana is a couture fashion line from Milan, Italy. Dolce & Gabbana met as students in Venice, Italy and started developing clothes together in 1982. When their work premiered in 1986, it garnered rave reviews from the fashion glitterati. In 1990, Dolce & Gabbana opened their first menswear outlet and women's wear boutique in the fashion capital of Milan, Italy. Today, the company's brands are split between the D&G line, which features more casual pants and tops, and the Dolce & Gabbana line, which focuses on more expensive pieces like cocktail dresses, highly embellished tops and pants, and exotic accessories. Each brand also features an extensive beachwear and underwear collection. Dolce & Gabbana service high-end consumers, and D&G dresses, skirts, slacks, and corsets have been worn by many Hollywood celebrities, including Angelina Jolie, Madonna, and Jennifer Lopez. After thriving in the European markets for five years, Dolce & Gabbana opened its first US store in Houston in March of 1995. In the years since, the brand has won award after prestigious award for their incredibly stylish blouses, sexy jackets and pants, and funky dresses. In 2004, the private love life of Dolce & Gabbana became public when the couple split up. Their working relationship remained unaffected by the romantic split. Many people put this fashion house on par with some of the grandest designers of modern times, including Versace, Prada, and Armani. Dolce & Gabbana continues to push the fashion envelope, releasing exquisitely detailed and tailored fashion fits every season. Of course, the fun rock-and-roll style of the clothing, from denim to silk, continues to attract young Hollywood luminaries to this line. |
