Dell makes some easy-to-integrate PowerEdge rack-configuration servers. The 2U PowerEdge 2850 is a performance-oriented server that works best in businesses of up to 50 employees. The PowerEdge servers are pre-configured with either business or basic setups, making them easy to implement into the work environment. The 1U PowerEdge 650 features a single Intel Pentium or Celeron processor, and is a compact unit that is easy to get up and running. The PowerEdge servers also come in tower and blade configurations. The PowerEdge 830 is for businesses of up to 10 employees. This entry-level server can work on one Intel Celeron processor, or you can go with the advanced version, which can run a dual core processor. The 2U PowerEdge 2850 takes up to two 64-bit Intel Xeon processors, for scalability and performance. Dell has dual-core platforms that include the 1U PowerEdge 1750 as well as the 1U PowerEdge 1850, 1855, 2800 and 2850 servers. Blade servers are for demanding environments that are almost constantly running complex business applications. Rack servers are for environments in which space is an issue. Tower servers work well for file sharing, database management and e-mail programs. One of Dell's most powerful processors is the PowerEdge 6850, which offers quad processor speed and performance. Two hard drives and a CD-DVD drive are part of the package, as is an Intel Pro dual-port network adapter. The processors are Intel Xeon, and the memory is 8GB. The PowerEdge 1855 is a server which can use one or two single or dual-core processors. Each blade server in the 1855 has up to 292GB of internal storage. |
