The Toshiba Tecra M4 is a tablet notebook Toshiba designed for executive use. At only 6.2 pounds, it travels well. The 14 inch screen supports extremely good graphics with 1400 by 1050 pixels per inch and SXGA resolution. You can view several windows at one time in the so-called landscape mode. You can even read the screen well when it's tilted 45 degrees. Although the Tecra notebook is technically a "tablet," it measures in at a whopping 12.9" x 11.4" x 1.5". Since it is heavy, you may want to save this laptop for minor commutes. The Tecra M4 stylus feels like a natural pen, but it lacks the rubberized grip of other good tablets on the market. The Tecra M4 shines in terms of its ports. It comes standard with three USB connections, a VGA, S-video, FireWire, and an infrared port. Although the Tecra M4 doesn't have fancy security devices, like a finger print scanner, the computer's Trust Supply Module should keep your data safe. For this notebook Toshiba also features a special support for the hard drive in case the computer gets dropped or knocked around. The Tecra M4 connects to the Internet via a conveniently located modem. It also comes with an Ethernet connection and an 802.11 b/g WiFi connector. For this notebook Toshiba also built in comprehensive volume control, perfect if you do a lot of computing in public spaces and use headphones and microphones. The in-chassis small stereo doesn't exactly put out rocking bass, but it's decent enough to listen to internet newscasts.
