The Hewlett Packard Omnibook 6000 laptop is a lightweight computer with plenty of features for enhanced performance and speed. The Omnibook 6000 comes standard with a Pentium III processor, and a feature called "SpeedStep" which helps to save power when operating off of battery power. This feature comes in handy on long flights, or when you don't have easy access to a power source. According to the manufacturer, you can expect the battery to last for up to seven hours. The new models feature ergonomic touches such as a shorter palm rest, hand grips to prevent you from dropping your laptop, and a Mylar seal under the keyboard to prevent spills from permanently damaging the system. In terms of network compatibility, the Omnibook 6000 features an interface card for when you're away from the office and a docking system for when you're back in the office. The Omnibook 6000 comes loaded with one of several different versions of Windows, either 95 or 98, and a Desktop Management Interface, as well as solid security features such as an optional HP Mobile ProtectTools Smart Card. According to the manufacturer, the life cycle of the Omnibook 6000 is 24 months, and older models are compatible with newer versions in terms of accessories. |
