Leading children’s toys manufacturer, MGA Entertainment, was established in 1997. Launched in 1997, their first production, the “Singing Bouncy Baby”, won the toy of the year award for that year, and sold over a million pieces. In 2001, to offset competition from rival toys such as Barbie, the company launched the “Bratz Girlz”. These 10-inch dolls, with their trademark oversized heads with big lips, wide eyes and proportionately small bodies, proved to be a big hit amongst preteens. Along with the five original female characters, “Yasmin”, “Jasmin”, “Sasha”, “Cloe”, and “Jade”, the Bratz dolls were further expanded to include a line-up of “Bratz Boyz”, “Lil' Bratz Girlz”, and “Bratz lil' Boyz”.
Apart from these line-ups, MGA branched “Bratz” into electronic goods for children as well. Called “Bratz”, these specially-designed electronics are children friendly and come in attractive shapes with bright colors. The series of electronics for kids includes alarm clocks, CD boom box, text and cell walkie talkie, iBratz players, iBratz speakers, iPiggy, iBratz light up case, iBratz sound station speakers, CD player with speakers, single use camera, 35mm camera, digital video camera, laptops, microphones, plug-in telephones, television sets, and portable DVD players.

Its rechargeable batteries and AC adapter add to its merits. The Bratz Portable DVD Player features a Dolby Digital Decoder, making its sound clarity and quality highly superior.
