Philips Domestic Appliances and Personal Care unit, a division of Philips, started manufacturing electric shavers, since 1939. The company forayed into selling electric shavers in the USA in the year 1948, following the World War II. The original shavers were named as Philishave until the year 2006, when the company abandoned the name tag for a simpler title of “Philips.” The company chose the brand name in the year 1940 as a step to legally prevent another company “Philco” from misusing the brand name. The title, Norelco, is a derivative of the words, "North American Philips Company" and "Electrical".
The Norelco 7886XL is a corded/cordless lightweight electric shaver manufactured by the division of Philips. This electric shaver is equipped with a 4-stage multi-blade cutting system with internal slots and holes that helps to shave longer and stubble hair growth. The blade system has a unique Lift and Cut dual blade system that lifts the hair gently for a smooth cut. It also features the Reflex Action functionality which offers the user with the flexibility to adjust the shaver to every curve on the face for a complete shave. Additionally, it has floating heads that align the blades on the skin for a comfortable close shave. The razor heads folds under the faucet after each use.
The 7886XL has a width pop-up trimmer for trimming moustache and sideburns neatly. In addition, the shaver is equipped with a LCD display that shows the battery power consumed and indicates when it needs recharging. The battery supports 45-minute of cordless shaving and has the ability of 6-minute quick recharge for instant shave. The electric shaver is a handy tool for shaving quickly without the use of any cream, and it saves the user a lot of time. |
