24 is an ongoing American television series, broadcasted by the Fox Network in the United States. The show is produced by Imagine Television and is a combination of action, and political drama. It was created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran and was first aired on November 6, 2001.
The key plot to the first season was the coverage of a 24 hour stint in the life of Jack Bauer, who is a federal agent. He is part of the Counter Terrorist Unit and constantly tries to prevent some domestic terror attack. The show also looks into the lives of his fellow agents at the Counter Terrorist Unit, based in Los Angeles as well the works of the terrorist organization, a civilian family, and some significant political leader. The second season was aired from 2002 to 2003 and is believed to happen in 2005, which is set 18 months after the first season ends. The second season’s main plot revolves around current president David Palmer and agent Jack Palmer trying to stop a Middle Eastern terrorist cell from setting off a nuclear bomb in Los Angles; this could be considered as the half of the seasons focus. In the second half, Jack, Kate and the Counter Terrorist Unit work towards preventing a misdirected retaliatory strike from the U.S army, by exposing the true masterminds that helped the terrorist acquire the nuclear bomb.
