Aerosmith is a renowned hard rock band that combines the raw, carefree sound of blues-rock with their self-developed witty, insolent charisma. They invented the form of music known as the power ballad, with their song “Dream On”, and this style has been used successfully by many popular singers such as Bryan Adams and Bon Jovi. The main members of their band are Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Jimmy Crespo and Brad Whitford. This band has entertained people for over three decades and is definitely in a class of its own.
The story of this great American band began in 1969 in an ice cream parlor where Steven Tyler met Joe Perry and they decided to join forces. They moved on to Boston in September1970 where they met Joey Kramer. In October 1970, Steven Tyler joined the group and the band Aerosmith was formed. In the year 1971, Ray Tabano was replaced by Brad Whitford of Reading, Massachusetts on guitar. The band tasted success only after a couple of years when Columbia Records signed them for a recording contract and their first album was released. Aerosmith won a Grammy award for their song ‘Janie’s got a Gun’. Their excellent performances over the years have been well appreciated, and they have been inducted in the ‘Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’ in 2001.
