Mr. Bean is best described as an anti-social, eccentric, yet surprisingly thoughtful. Bean lives in a small apartment in Highbury, North London. His attire consists of his trademark brown tweed jacket and red tie which noticeably short in length, only adding to his oddity. Mr. Bean is too naïve to understand the basic principles on which life is based. What is a simple task like taking an exam or swimming seems complicated to him. Moreover, Bean formulates his own solutions for these problems, irrespective of what others think. Teddy is Mr. Bean’s favorite companion as well as best friend. Teddy is knitted dark brown soft toy with buttons for eyes and sausage like limbs. Teddy at times also doubles up as dishcloth and paintbrush. The Mini is Bean’s vehicle of choice. Bean often performs his daily morning chores such as brushing his teeth and dressing up for work in his Mini, while driving on his way to work.
Mr. Bean is brainchild of Rowan Atkinson, Robin Driscoll, Richard Curtis and Ben Elton. Mr. Bean television series has also been adapted into an animation series. In 1997, Mr. Bean made his big screen debut in ‘Bean’. In the film, Mr. Bean takes his misadventures across the Atlantic into America. |
