Nina Moric was born on July 22, 1976 in Zagreb, Croatia. As a child she used to dream about growing up to become a lawyer; instead she became one of the most prominent models. She grew up in a middle-class household where she lived with her economist mother and her father who was a doctor. She soon realized that though she was smart enough to pursue what she dreamed to become, she could also make a successful career out of modeling. Winning the title of Miss Croatia, a national pageant, further boosted her moral to become a world- renowned model.

Nina Moric participated in 1996’s Elite Look of the Year modeling competition and bagged the runner up position; it was here that celebrated fashion juggernauts noticed her potential. While continuing law school, Moric joined Midiken, a Croatian modeling agency, from where she bagged impressive contracts with high-flying fashion houses. In 1998, she re-entered the Elite Look of the Year modeling competition; this time she won the Model of the Year title. This victory sparked a series of high-profile contracts with fashion houses such as Erreuno, Les Copains, and Versace.

Nina is most remembered for her appearance in Ricky Martin’s music video for “Livin’ Da Vida Loca”. The song was nominated by the MTV Video Music Awards in six different categories, in 1999. It won the award for “Best Dance Video” and “Best Pop Video”. Jim Carrey wanted to cast Nina Moric as the female lead in sequel to the critically acclaimed film ‘The Mask’; though in time Jim Carrey himself opted out of the sequel. Nina soon became a TV correspondent, along with Giorgio Panariello on ‘Torno Sabato’, RAI1. She also released a music track titled “Star”, for which she teamed up with producer Joe T. Vannelli, who had earlier worked with well-known artists such as New Order, Erasure, and Bobby Brown.
