Vanessa Marcil is an American actress born on October 15, 1969 in Indio, California. She is of French, Italian and Portuguese descent. She was born in a poor family with three siblings. Marcil was named after the actress Vanessa Redgrave.
Vanessa dropped out of school for some time; she however graduated and shifted to Newport Beach, California where she lived on her own. She had a tough time making a living before she decided to take up acting classes and move on to become an actor. Marcil began as a theater actor before she got the role of Brenda Barrett on the soap opera ‘General Hospital’ in 1992. She played the role of Gina Kincaid on ‘Beverly Hills 90210’. She made her Hollywood debut in the movie ‘The Rock’ alongside Nicolas Cage, Sean Connery and Ed Harris in 1996. Marcil has also starred in the movies ‘Nice Guys Sleep Alone’ alongside Sean O’bryan and ‘This Space Between Us’ with Jeremy Sisto, both of which released in 1999. She got three Daytime Emmy Award nominations and won “Outstanding Supporting Actress” in 2003 and also grabbed the honors of "Outstanding Lead Actress" at the Soap Opera Digest Awards. Vanessa has also starred in the made-for-television movie ‘To Love, Honor and Deceive’ and made recurring appearances on the Steven Spielberg production ‘High Incident’.
Vanessa is currently part of the television series ‘Las Vegas’. She has also been featured in a number of magazines such as Stuff, FHM, and Maxim. Vanessa Marcil has been awarded the "Sojourn Service Award" in 2001. She has supported the charity by hosting numerous charity events. |
