There are several different methods of hair removal, and the one you choose will depend on several factors. The location of the hair, its color and thickness, your pain tolerance, and how long you want the hair to be gone are all considerations. Shaving is the simplest and most common method of hair removal, and you have two choices: blades or electric shavers. Blade razors cut closer to the skin and the stubble they leave behind is smoother. Electric razors are faster and safer, and usually let you choose from a variety of stubble lengths. The result, however, is more ragged and you will never get as close to the skin as you can with a blade razor. If you are getting a blade razor, you can get a disposable model, which are typically suited to only a couple of shaves. They're cheap and you don't have to worry about losing them when you travel. Loose double-edge razors and single and twin blade injectable cartridges are the most common options for people shaving regularly at home, and typically last 10 to 12 shaves. Epilators are a totally different option for hair removal. They have a row of electric tweezers that pull out hair by the root. Hair is completely gone for several days, and when it grows back, the tips of the hair are not as rough or blunt as they are from shaving. The downside to these is that some people experience pain and swelling, and they are also less likely to work on fine hair because the tweezers won't necessarily grasp the hairs tightly enough to pull them out.
