The fragrance industry dates back to a time when we still believed the world was flat. It continues to dominate the beauty market to this day. Women's fragrances are some of the most popular, accounting for more than half of the market's $10 billion yearly sales. And, with nearly a tenth of the millions of perfume buyers purchasing online, entire websites are being devoted to the sale of fragrances, especially for women. Popular women's apparel makers like Victoria's Secret have found it beneficial to incorporate fragrances into their website as well as in their catalogs and retail locations. In addition to lines from Alfred Sung, Stella McCartney, and others, the company even sells a signature fragrance called Victoria's Secret Pink. High-End Retail Perfume Victoria's Secret didn't start this trend, though. Higher-end clothing retailers have sold perfumes for years. The great thing about companies like Victoria's Secret is that they cater to gift givers. They offer gift bags every holiday season at discounted prices, allowing new (and returning) customers to experience their fragrances at lower prices than at other times of the year. Dolce & Gabbana and DKNY also offer special holiday gift sets centered around their fragrances. The Italian D & G offers a gift set of their fragrance, Feminine, that includes perfumed lotion, shower gel and more. DKNY sells their popular Be Delicious fragrance all year round in a gift set for the manufacturer suggested price of $50. However, all of these fragrances and holiday sets can be purchased at significant discounts on eBay.
