Laundry is not high on most people's lists of favorite chores, but by having the proper equipment, such as a reliable iron, anyone can make the job go much more smoothly. As people have known for decades, a great iron can allow you to simultaneously save time and produce better-looking results. Many people simply get by with the steam function that comes with their iron. If you use the steam feature often, however, you may want to invest in the type of steam iron that can be used without an ironing board. By using a steam iron on your clothes while they hang, you do not have to worry about wrinkling the parts of the clothing that you have already ironed. If you iron mostly shirts and like to have a crisp collar or cuffs, you should shop carefully for an iron that fits your hand and is not too heavy. Doing so will enable you to slide the point of the iron more easily in and around the tailored areas of the shirt. If you iron often, you'll want to take the time to carefully compare ironing boards as well. A proper ironing board, adjusted to the correct height, can make the task of ironing much more palatable by preventing back strain. Ironing boards also come in a great variety of forms. They can be installed to fold back into the wall, be free-standing (but easy to fold away), or be sturdy enough to leave out when you're not ironing.
