Casio has been one of the most popular and well established brand names amongst watchmakers. The Pathfinder series is possibly their latest innovation in watch making. Apart from unique outdoor styling, these watches stand a class apart, as tools to help one while venturing out in the nature.
Pathfinder watches are quipped with sensors that aid in observing the nature and monitoring even minute changes. The various distinguishing features include Atomic, Solar, Compass, Altimeter, Barometer, Thermometer, Tide Graph, Depth Gauge, Diving Log, and Auto Light. The Atomic feature picks up signals from time calibration systems and automatically adjusts itself to show the correct time. The Pathfinder works completely on light. It gets charged by solar light as well as artificial sources of light. The Compass takes the wearer of the watch in the right direction, while the Altimeter tells how much above the sea level is one located at that moment. The Barometer measures air pressure and records changes in the weather and the Thermometer keeps a tab on the temperature every 5 minutes. The Tide Graph has up to date information about the tidal movements based on the movements of the moon. The Depth Gauge and Diving Log are useful for divers. Depth Gauge can tell how deep the diver has swam, while Diving Log records dive time data, dive number, dive start and end time, total dive time, maximum water depth, average water depth and temperature of water at its deepest point.
The Pathfinder watches are classified as Hiking/Trekking Pathfinders and Sailing/Diving Pathfinders. There are 12 types of watches available in the former category and 5 available in the latter. All the watches do not have every feature or similar features. |
