Honda VTX is a series of Honda cruiser motorcycle, introduced in the year 2002. They were introduced in two models, one with an 1800cc engine and the other with a 1300cc engine. The motorcycles are powered by a V2 or V twin engine.
The Honda VTX 1800 is a four stroke bike with a huge wheelbase. The VTX 1800 ensures smooth turns with the help of the offset dual-pin crankshaft and two primary shafts, balancing its weight. The bike has a sturdy body and its fuel injected motor churns 106 bhp at 5000rpm. It produces a torque of 120 feet/lbs at 3500rpm. The bike has a broad tank that is capped with a chrome plated light set and aircraft style fuel filler. It has a 4.5 gallon tank that provides fuel for a 160-mile range. Honda’s new Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) system monitors the torque at many small throttle openings. It is equipped with a vacuum sensor that overlooks the minute changes in throttle position which is effective in the first 10 percent of throttle movement. Further monitoring is done by the standard Throttle position sensor, TPS.
The 1800 is fitted with a reengineered version of its Linked Braking System that is endowed with a pair of six-piston calipers in the front and two pistons clutching the disc at the rear. The rider’s right hand controls eight out of twelve pistons while the foot pedal operates the other four. In addition, it has a stylish headlight that produces a strong illumination while cruising in the night and also has clear mirrors. |
