Orange County Choppers (OCC) is the name of a custom motorcycle shop located in Rock Tavern, NY. The company has only been in business since 1999, but it has already made quite a reputation for itself. In fact, they have a list of celebrity clients and their bikes are even featured in a weekly television show. If you are looking for a standard, run-of-the-mill bike, Orange County Choppers is not the bike shop for you. This company, featuring the father-son team of Paul Teutul Sr. and Paul Michael Teutul, specializes in designing and building one-of-a-kind, commemorative, and limited-edition motorcycles. They are world renowned for special theme bikes like the Jet Bike, Spider Bike, Black Widow, and T-Rex, all of which are regarded as works of art by motorcycle aficionados. The True Blue bike was the first custom chopper designed by the OCC crew, followed by the Jet Bike. The Jet Bike was built in 2002 and patterned after Navy aircraft carriers. This motorcycle was created to honor U.S. soldiers who were serving in Afghanistan. The Spider Bike won the company both national and international accolades and was eventually purchased by singer and songwriter Wyclef Jean. Orange County Choppers has also been named one of the top 12 custom motorcycle builders by American Iron Magazine. In addition, the company's work has been featured in international magazines like France's Freeway and Norway's Norsk Biker Journal. Because their bikes feature totally original designs, Orange County Choppers only makes about 150 bikes a year. As a result, expect to dig deep into your pockets for an OCC motorcycle cruiser. The base price of a bike is around $39,000. |
