She is also the first and only woman to have topped the list of FHM magazine’s list of 100 sexiest females in the world for two consecutive years.
Jennifer Lynn Lopez was born on July 24, 1969 in Bronx, New York. She was brought up in a strict household with a lot of emphasis on school and education. At the age of 16, she dropped out of college and pursued dancing, splitting time between her job at the law office and dance classes, to dancing at Manhattan clubs in the nights. After months of slogging as a dancer, she finally got her break in television as a video girl for rap artists, along with a guest spot at the American Music Awards. Her first major gig was as a fly girl dancer in the comedy program, ‘In Living Color’ in 1990. Lopez finally moved on to the big screen in 1995 with the drama, My Family opposite Wesley Snipes in the action film, Money Train, also appeared in the 1996 comedy Jack opposite Robin Williams and the thriller, Blood and Wine in 1997 with Jack Nicholson. She was nominated by the Golden Globe in 1998, for the Best Performance by an Actress for the film, Selena.
“Lets Get Loud” and “Waiting For Tonight” earned Jennifer Lopez two Grammy Award nominations in 2000 and 2001. Her “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” was the first UK #1 single and became her biggest hit ever. Her other hits include songs like, I’m Real, Ain’t It Funny, I’m Gonna Be Alright and Alive in 2002. |
