James Todd Smith III popularly known as LL Cool J is an American hip hop artist born on January 14, 1968. His nick name LL Cool J stands for “Ladies Love Cool J”. He is considered as sex symbol by women all over the world. He is one of the hip hop community’s most prominent figures and is also the only hip hop artist of his time to manage a successful recording career for over two decades. LL Cool J is also a part of the American Hollywood scene with appearances in some flicks.
LLCool J was born in Westchester County, New York and grew up in the middle class section of Hollis, Queens, New York. He was the only child and was a part of the church choir. James was also in the boy scouts and was part of a football team. LL grew up in a muscial family. His grandfather played the tenor sax, his grandmother sang in the choir and his mother played the accordion. James started first recording at the age of 13. LL released his first album in 1985. Other famous albums released include Bigger and Deffer (1987), Walking With a Panther (1989), Mama Said Knock You Out (1990), 14 Shots To The Dome (1993), Mr. Smith (1995), Phenomenon(1997), G.O.A.T. feat. He is best known for his song "I Need Love" as well as his hardcore rap number like "I Can't Live Without My Radio" & "Mama Said Knock You Out".
LL Cool J has had quiet an amazing movie career as well; with appearances in movies such as Wildcats (1986), Deep Blue Sea (1999), Charlie's Angels (2000), Kingdom Come (2001), and S.W.A.T. (2003) to name a few. |
