Nine Inch Nails also known as NIN is an American band formed in 1988 in Cleveland, Ohio. The band was formed by Trent Reznor who is the heart and soul of Nine Inch Nails. He is the singer, producer, and plays a number of instruments in the band.
NIN’s music fit a varied range of music genres and is described as alternative, electronica, heavy metal, rock, but most commonly industrial or industrial rock. Nine Inch Nail has been part of the rock music scene for over 16 years and has released five albums. Their debut album Pretty Hate Machine released in 1989. The album consisted of studio versions of demo recordings and was later unofficially re-released as Purest Feeling. The band released their second album titled ‘Broken’ in 1992, it was a collection of six track plus two bonus tracks. The song ‘Wish’ won a Grammy in the rock category. Their second full album release was ‘The Downward Spiral’ which released in 1994, a re-mastered version of the album was released on November 23, 2004. The bands fourth major release was the two-disc album called ‘The Fragile’ that released in 1999. NIN’s fifth release was ‘With Teeth’. The album was pirated to the market before the albums official release on May 3, 2005. The album was certified platinum by RIAA in March 2006.
Reznor has quoted in Kerrang! Magazine, that he has enough music for the release of a new album to be released in 2006. He also claims that the featured songs have not been on ‘With Teeth’. He has also indicated that he would like to release re-mastered surround sound versions of Pretty Hate Machine, Broken/Fixed and The Fragile. |
