Boston Whaler 17The Boston Whaler is a series of small and compact open boats produced by Boston Whaler Inc. Boston whaler boats come with fiberglass, are foam cored, twin V-hulled, with a center steering console, outboard engine etc. Initially, Boston Whaler boats were manufactured at Massachusetts. At present, Boston Whalerâs manufacturing facility is in Edgewater, Florida. Boston Whaler first produced the 13-foot Whaler hull in 1965. The Whaler was produced by Richard T. Fisher and Raymond Hunt. It came with polyurethane foam that covered the fiberglass skin. The polyurethane foam offered great strength, sound deadening, and buoyancy. The Boston Whaler 17 foot Montauk was first produced in 1976. The Boston Whaler Montauk comes with a 6.2 feet beam. The boat has a single board engine type and comes with 1984 Mercury 90 horsepower engine. It is equipped with a center console, and has fuel capacity of 21-30 gallons. The hull material is made of fiberglass, and can be used in fresh water as well salt water. The Boston Whaler Montauk has great speed, with a fit and finesse that is quite impressive.The Boston Whaler Montauk also comes in 15 or 19 feet.
