Ferrari is a sports car manufacturing company situated in Maranello, Italy. It was founded in 1929 by Enzo Ferrari as Scuderia Ferrari. The company has been noted worldwide for it's participation in Formula One racing. The Ferrari 360 series is the successor to the 355 and launched three models. The 360 series are built with the sole purpose of giving the driver the virtual feel of a true racing car. The first model, Ferrari 360 Modena was introduced to the market in 1999 and was the first production line of Ferrari to have an entirely aluminum body. The car is powered to life by a V8 3.6 litre mid-mounted engine that produces 400 bhp and accelerated from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds. It is a two door coupe that has the signature front air vents and a top speed of 190mph. The 360 Spider, that was next in the 360 evolution line, is a convertible version of 360 Modena. It is a practical car that was unveiled in the 2000 Geneva Motor Show and went on sale in 2001. The other specifications are almost the same as Modena. The last of the Ferrari 360 series is the Ferrari Challenge Stradale. It comes in two versions, the normal leather interior version and an extreme racing version. The Challenge project started with a drastic reduction in weight by generally reducing the weight of all the components. It had enhanced aerodynamics by the increase of vertical load that gives more control when cornering the car. It is equipped with improved suspension and brakes, a Formula One type sequential gearshift and an advance 3.6 liter V8 engine. The engine produced 425 bhp at 8500 rpm. |
