Quads are of two kinds, Utility Quads that are used by farmers to get around their huge farms and Sports Quads that are used for leisure. Honda TRX 450R is a sports quad bike; that is a four wheeler that runs on all terrain hence called an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV). The latest Honda 450R comes in two versions, a kick start or an electric start version.

The bike comes to life by a four stroke single cylinder 450cc engine. The engine is liquid cooled and has a solid state CD ignition with electronic advance. The fuel tank has a capacity of 3.1 gallons for the kick start and 3.2 gallons for the electric start. This electric 450R can be kick or electrically started by the rider. Both the versions have an O-ring sealed chain driveline. The 450R has an independent double wishbone front suspension with Showa shocks while the rear suspensions are Pro-Link single Showa shock. The front and the rear suspensions feature adjustable spring preload, rebound and compression damping. The Braking system is endowed with dual hydraulic discs with twin piston calipers upfront and single hydraulic disc with single piston caliper at the rear. The TPS, throttle position sensor, monitors the torque of the bike at throttle openings. The bike body sits on knobby radial front and rear wheels. The bike has a ground clearance of 4.4 inches and a wheelbase of 50.2 inches.

The bike comes in a gamut of different colors. The kick start 450R is available in black and red while the electric start comes in white, red, black/ flame. The bike can be used for leisure cruising as well as for racing with a few modifications by adding racing kit parts.
