Nissan Motor Co. Ltd is a Japanese automobile manufacturer, which is based in Tokyo. In the beginning of this century, Nissan started developing a powerful and dynamic range of sports cars. The skyline-based Infiniti G35 was the vehicle that helped Nissan through a bad financial phase. It was the Motor Trendâs car of the year for 2003. Infiniti vehicles are traditionally based on similar platforms as the other Nissan models and generally sold in North American, Asian, and Middle Eastern markets. The Infiniti G35 is available in both sedan and coupe body style. In 2003, this sport luxury car was first introduced in the North American market. The G35 uses a 3.5 liter, V6 24 valves engine with 4 valves per cylinder. The engine was capable of generating 260 BHP at 6,000 RPM. This naturally aspirated engine has displacement 3507 cc and provides 260 ft-lbs torque at 4,800 RPM. It has an electronically controlled 5-speed automatic transmission and manual shift mode with Downshift Rev Matching. The standard G35 Coupe generates up to 280 HP at 6200 RPM, while the 6MT version generates 298 HP at 6400 RPM. This car was known for its rear-wheel drive. The steering of the G35 Coupe uses the variable-assist power rack-and-pinion technology. Both the front and rear suspensions are independent, and made of forged aluminum with coil springs. The suspension can be optionally sport-tuned in the standard model. This car has ventilated disc brakes at the front and the rear. The Infinity G35 coupe was extremely popular for its excellent design and high performance. |
