The Ford Motor Company is an American firm selling automobiles worldwide. The âFord Rancheroâ was one of the series of pickups produced from 1957 to 1979. The Ford Ranchero is a combination of a pickup truck and car. The first Ford Ranchero debuted on November 12, 1956. This pick up was specially designed for the North American clientele. Rancheroâs platform was built from a full-size Ford car called the âFord Fairlaneâ (1957-1959). One of the Ford Ranchero Customs was owned by Elvis Parsley. There were two models of the Ford Ranchero that were available to the public. One of them was a normal pick up truck, mostly purchased by farmers. The other model was called the âFord Ranchero Customâ. This model was available with options and accessories of the Ford Fairlane. The Ford Ranchero Custom has a stainless steel body and moldings. The car is painted in a two-tone paint. The car or the pick up could have any engine of Fairlane series or Thunderbird Special that the customer chooses. The Ranchero offered to Canada customers was lined-up in collaboration with Meteor. A customer could chose from the V8 engine, generating 300bhp of the Thunderbird to the 212bhp of the Fairlane. Not only could a customer choose their own engine but they could also choose from other accessories such as the interiors and trim of the Thunderbird or Fairlane. The pickup version of the Ford Ranchero has a 6-foot bed and has a loading capacity of 1,190 pounds. A Ford Ranchero could be used as a luxury or a utility vehicle. |
