Yamaha Motor Company Limited is a Japanese motorcycle manufacturer, which was initially a subsidiary of Yamaha Corporation, the worldâs largest piano manufacturer. The company gained notable credibility in the market of motorized vehicles since July 1, 1955. Currently, the company is the second largest manufacturer of motorcycles in the world. Other motorized vehicles manufactured by Yamaha are the all-terrain vehicles, boats, snowmobiles, outboard motors, and personal watercraft.
The Yamaha Banshee quad-bike is yet another piece of sports bike engineering from the stables of Yamaha. The original model was initially introduced in the year 1987 with the latest revised edition being launched in the year 2006. The ATV or All Terrain Vehicle features a much basic two-stroke, twin cylinder engine. The engine displacement is measured at 350 cc with a naturally aspirated carburetor. A different variant with dual Mikuni VM26SS carburetor is available for even higher performance. The clutch assembly is a wet-plate having multiple discs. A constant-mesh 6-speed gearbox is integral to the ATV instead of the usual synchro-mesh.
The ATV has an all-steel tubular frame to endure tough riding conditions. Its dry weight is 386 lbs. The suspension system is a Double wishbone system with a dual shock absorption system. The shock absorbers have a coil spring along with an oil or gas damper for smoother ride. The braking system is a dual disc brake system with hydraulic calipers.
