It is a universally acknowledged fact that riding a motorcycle is a risky proposition. In the instance of an accident, a helmet can make the difference between life and death, as research has proved that most of the motorcycle accident fatalities have been caused by head injuries. Arai Helmets, started over 65 years ago in Japan, by Mr. Hirotake Arai, a hat maker and motorcycle enthusiast, is a global manufacturer of helmets, meeting international quality and safety standards. In the early days, the company made construction workers' helmets. Using the heat forming technique with resins, Arai developed helmet shells. Later, Arai released the first Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) helmets in Japan and received a license from the Japan Industrial Standards (JIS) for commercial manufacture of motorcycle helmets. Every Arai helmet is handmade and undergoes three rounds of testing during the manufacturing process. After the helmet design is complete, it is fed into a five-point laser scanning system and a CAD/CAM software, which replicates the craftsman's design. Arai's Structural Net Composite (SNC) construction increases the impact tolerance and lowers the weight. The chin-vent has a dual-pivot, one vent transmitting air to the face through a carbon filter, and the other directing air to the shield, preventing fogging. The uniquely designed breathguard propels hot breath away from the shield. Comfort for the rider has been enhanced with a light fiberglass body, equal weight distribution, lower center of gravity, multiple-density lining taking the shape of the user's head, and efficient ventilation systems. The outer finish of the product is aesthetic, and the face shield is scratch resistant, offering clear visibility. The durability of the helmet can be gauged from the fact that Aria was the first helmet company to offer a five-year warranty. Arai helmets are used by normal motorcycle riders as well as professional and motocross racers.
