'Livin' Loud' has and always will be the Kicker way, ever since Stillwater Designs founder and president, Steve Irby designed the first full-range speaker enclosure for automobiles in 1980. The company started off as a 2-person operation in 1973, building professional speaker systems for churches and auditoriums. Owing to their success with the original Kicker, they concentrated solely on car speaker systems. They have now grown into a 200-plus strong corporation covering more than 300,000 sqft of work space. Their headquarters is located in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Stillwater Designs offers a number of high performance car stereo products under the Kicker brand name. Their sub-woofer range includes the SoloX, Solo Baric L7, Comp VX, and the Comp VR. Their SX series power amplifiers come with a remote control, while they also have the ZX series power amplifiers. The KM Series Marine includes sub-woofers, sub-boxes, and coaxial and component speakers. The SS, RS, and KS series include mid-range drivers, mid bass drivers and tweeters. They also manufacture signal processors, equalizers, and electric crossovers, besides full range systems. Owing to their excellent design-engineering and craftsmanship, Stillwater Designs have been honored with a number of prestigious awards for their products. The SoloX S18X sub-woofer and the SX900.4, a 4-channel amp, won the CEA Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase award, the industries highest honor. They also won the Audio Video International Auto Sound Grand Prix Award, sponsored by Audio Video International magazine. Today, there are over 1100 authorized Kicker Dealers in America alone, while a distributing network serves over 2000 dealers in around 50 countries.
